ANTHROPOLOGIE AT HOME

FYI..... Anthropologie is opening in Vancouver on May 13th 2011!  This is super exciting news for anyone who's a fan of the store, for either their clothing, their accessories, their beauty products, or their at home essentials.  And if you noticed, the title of this blog, is a little bit of a play on words, "Anthropologie At Home" as in, IN VANCOUVER, and also, as in, their HOME product, so tricky.  This will be the first Anthropologie in Vancouver.  Rumors have been spread about this opening for a while, and it's now finally happening.
The company was founded in 1992 and is based in Trenton, South Carolina.  Wendy Wurtzbuger&Wendy B.McDevitt are the Co-Presidents of Anthropologie Brand and Anthropologie Inc. also operates Urban Outfitters (a store very similar that can be found on Grandville in downtown Vancouer).

Anthropologie has amazing interior furniture, bedding, rugs, curtains, dinnerware, glassware, lighting&so much more.  I would definitely say the style of their products are often very "hipstro", possibly the reason why i like it so much.  They use a variety of patterns, textures, colors, styles&looks with their products, and is an overall vibrant, eye catching store.  Though it's more on the pricey side, their at home products are all around reliable and totally worth every penny.  If you sign up, you can receive their monthly catalogs, which are PAGES and PAGES of fun to flip through.  Each month the store is inspired by something different and no matter what their inspiration may be (the circus, old European towns, or their latest inspiration, India), their creations&designs leave you wanting more.  You literally walk into the store and have to calm yourself down before you combust in excitement because of all the beautiful, well, EVERYTHING.  To get a better idea of the store, check out their website,  http://www.anthropologie.com/anthro/index.jsp

ORGANIZE YOURSELF!

Now, i think at some point we have ALL had that disastrous bathroom that looks like it's been hit by a tornado.  Make-up everywhere, hair elastics flying in the air, earrings&bracelets from wall to wall, well, now that problem can be fixed.  Solutions "Vinyl 80 Pocket Organizer" is the answer.  It sells for the affordable price of $19.99 and literally has EIGHTY pockets for storage.  It can be nicely hung into your closet or on any kind of hook, and with this, you'll be able to find whatever you need, whenever you may need it.  An awesome part about this organizer is that the pockets are clear, so your able to see and look for exactly what you need, no need for labelling with this beauty.  A not so awesome part about this organizer is that it is a little tacky looking, with the white vinyl&all.  But if it's in your closet, it can easily be hidden between a cute knit sweater or your favorite summer dress.  Your basic bathroom mess can totally benefit with this organizer, and your jewelry will no longer have to be stuffed in some drawer&tangled, because with this organizer, there is a place for everything.  And it can even go beyond jewelry&make-up, you could really put whatever you want in each and every one of those 80 pockets.  Meaning, this organizer can be used in an office (for pens, pencils, note pads, elastics bands, erasers, etc.), or even in a craft room (spools of thread, ribbon, tape, siccors, etc.).  Whever you decide to put this organizer, EVERYTHING will ALWAYS be where you can find it.

MY ROOM:)

YAY! Super excited to blog about my room. Since lime green is my favorite colour, I decided to use that as the main colour in my room. I painted my walls green. I have one big window in my room which faces south so the sun shines right in. It is so beautiful in the summer when the sun shines in and reflects off my walls. It's so cheery and bright! Totally love it. I have a few different accent colours that I have used in my room. I mostly used red, and pink. ALTHOUGH red and green usually pair together for christmas colours, it doesn't look christmas'y at all. It looks super funky. I used pink as an accent colour... because I just had to. I mean. I love pink. I needed to use it in my room! I have a few pink pillows thrown on my bed.... I might need to attend some short of AA meeting about my addiction to pillows! Ha!  Another thing I have in my room is alot of pictures. I love black and white pictures. I dedicated a wall in my room for a picture wall, I also have a bunch of funky framed pictures displayed on my window bench which I love! I am just about to start a project on my room.... I need some sort of desk space in my room so I decided at I want to tear down the walls on my closet, and make my closet so I can have a built in desk where part of my closet used to be. I'm excited because I think it's going to look good, and be really a useful space in my room.

I got these letters for Christmas last year, and have them hung on my wall. I love them , except they took SO long too hang up!
Here is my window bench, I have lots of pictures, since my mom is a photographer. I also have the secret Santa gift that Noelle gave for for Christmas, its cute and it looks nice with the rest of my room:)

This is the entrance to my room , you can see my door... with some sweaters hanging on the back of it. I also have more pictures hanging on my wall, and a picture that I got from my aunt. I love it! :)
This is my FAVOURITE  item in my room. This is my bulletin board, and I post everything on this board. Inspirational quotes, cards, pictures. Love it (:
Welcome! To my messy closet! Haha. This is awful, probably should have cleaned my room first, but I didnt so..ya.  This is the area where I am planning to do some small renovations, the plan is to build a smaller closet, and put in a built in desk. Im pumped. Itll be good.

Here is my window bench with the blinds closed, I just got these new blinds. Pretty fancy. Just kidding. Not really fancy. Its nice, because when it is sunny the sun is shining, in my room, and it gets really warm and bright! Woohoo.

LANTERNS

I was thinking about celebrations lately and what makes them very extravegant. i was thinking of the movie Tangled and at the end they let off white lanterns to float in the sky. I loved that! Lanterns are so pretty and give the atmosphere a slight warm and home like glow. They come in all different sizes, colours and shapes.

I've always wanted to do this! make thin lanterns out of a white fabric and have a candle glow in them and set them free in the sky.

These are vintage Chinese lanterns. These lanterns are made out of a glass and are painted with designs. Candles are planted and hung in the middle to let them glow. Every lantern has a sorce of light in the middle of them to let them glow.
They are perfect for parties, large venues, weddings, and bedrooms. They have such a nice and warm glow that give off a very nice aura.

ORANGE :(

There are so many lovely colors out there, but Orange...really? EW. I would definately have to say that orange is my least favorite color. Although i think it can be paired with really nice patterns and other colors it just doesn't sit well with me. I don't know what it is about the color but i just find it repolsive! I think orange is becoming very modern now, but its not a color that i would ever use or even think about using.

Like this pic here..EW. Its a total turn off to orange.

I don't mind the use of orange in this room. It looks really nice with the dark colors they incorporated, but again i would never use the color orange.

I kinda like this space. Even they used orange accents i wouldn't mind it in a beach house.

K...umm... i have nothing good to say about this.

TURQUOISE

Colors colors colors! One of my absolute favorite colors in the universe is TURQUOISE! I think it has a very summery feel to it. The thing that i like most about the color is that depending on what other patterns or colors you decide to pair it with, it always makes the room feel relaxing! My bedroom at home is turquoise and brown, and my furniture is white, which i think compliments turquoise really well because its not a dark color. When the sunlight hits my bedroom walls it makes my room feel bright and spacious! The bottom line is that Turquoise is a fantastic color and makes a room feel very happy! :)

ECO FRIENDLY COMFORTORS

HOM Wool Comforter King Heavy
This is an organic comfortor sold at PristinePlanet.com. They are very warm and great for the winter. The price for this comfortor is around 500$. with them being organice Hom Wool the price would go up. They arent made with chemicals or products unhealthy for the earth. Washing them in cold water is also good for the environment and keeping the comfortor in good shape. (Only one picture popped up)
