MY ROOM

Ever since i was little, a had this big obession of making my room look perfect, like the kind of rooms you see on tv and in magazines, little did i know, it's a lot harder than it looks.  My room used to be purple, which was my favorite color, and because i wanted it to look just like Ren (the bossy older sister on the tv show "Even Stevens")'s room.  I also made my mom buy me the door beads beacause, at the time, i loved the way they looked in Lizzie Mcguire's room. But after a while i sort of gave up on my room, and it is what it is now.  Definitely not a room you'd see in a magazine, but i guess it has character? Not quite the fabulous Carrie Bradshaw kind of room, but it definitely works for me.

This is the entrance to my bedroom.  The purple doorbeads were bought a VERY long time ago and i guess i'm fully attached to them now and haven't wanted to take them down.

Here you can see my bed, with a more or less ugly comforter.  Long story to that but on the bright side, the comforter is super soft.  The mix n' matched pillows have just kind of been collected over time, and the wooden bed frame&matching night table i've had forever.  My curtains have recently been updated from my former denim curtains (yes, demin curtains), and on the night table sits a lamp, a basket of books, and an alarm clock.

This is a DIY project i did last summer.  I decided i have WAY too many pictures i love and what better way to show them then on a wall?  I bought around 20 wooden frames from Ikea, and decided to add more spice by painting them different colors.  So i spent a day painting the frames all dfferent colors, letting them dry, then filling them with my favorite pictures.  I arranged them in a way that they would look a little crooked yet fitted and added a felt project i made in my Ceramics&Sculpt class. This is definitely one of the things i like most in my room.

This is a dresser that i got a few years ago and is topped with pictures, make-up, and jewlery.  I keep it kind of messy looking because i like the casual feel it gives off and it's easiest for day to day basis.  The mirror was saved from my great grandmother, and a few summers ago my aunt and i painted it white.  I really love the mirror, and the kind of classy look it gives to the room.

Here is my closet.  I usually keep it open, and it's filled with clothes, purses, old dance shoes, and other random boxes. If i could, i would totally change this closet into a walk-in. Beside it, is a full length mirror, if i could, i would give this mirror a frame, because the plainess of the cut doesn't really do much for the room.

This is my desk, as you can see, it's cluttered with books, photos, and papers, but is a great place to put homework&school stuff.  I have a few small pictures on the top shelf, and randoms school supplies on the side shelfs.  Underneath, i have a small drawer that holds more stuff, like cd's, beads, bracelet yarn and more papers.  If i could change something about my desk, it would be the chair, the pink doesn't really work for the room, maybe a wooden stool or chair would be a better choice.

Overall, my room is a more or less colorful place full of mix n' match everything, and i don't think that'll change for a long time.
