VIGNETTES

Vignettes.  I must say, i had no idea what a "vignette" was until i read this blog assignment.  And once i understood what a vignette was, i realized i actually have a couple placed here&there around my house.  I think vignettes can make areas and rooms look very pulled together.  I imagine a vignette in a more victorian style home, then say, an organic home.  Though vignettes may not be fit for all rooms and homes, i think they're very elegant and bring a nice touch of class to an enviroment.

A close up of my first vignette&the pearls that lay upon it.

Though this may not look like your typical put together vignette, i believe i would call this a "neatly cluttered" vignette.  Across the back, i've put 3 different picture frames, all different sizes and textures.  I also have perfume bottles mirroring each other, around an open jewelry box.  And then to add a more "everyday" feel, i cluttered all kinds of make-up products, jewelry, and small nicknacks.  My inpspiration for this vignette?  The everyday lifestyle of Noelle.  I've placed a lipgoss there after using it, and a bracelet there after taking it off.  That's where i left it, that's where it stays.  Many of these pieces are sentimetal to me, like the japanese doll  and the pearls from my mom.

This vignette has a different feel.  Not so "neatly cluttered" and more so "clean-cut".  I have a lot less pieces on this vignette, but pieces that take up more area.  My inspiration for this vignette was the ceramic plate on the left,  i love the picture painted on it (is that a vignette?!) and all the bright colors used.  The most sentimental piece within this vignette would probably be the wooden jewelry box, it was totally DIY!
